Thanks for Everything
This is for the (CAS)E This Sketch challenge #61. I used trees, but admittedly I strayed a bit in my design. However, my card was inspired by the sketch, so I am including it. The stamps are from Clear Dollar. The paper was from my scrap bin. I popped up the oval for dimension, which you can't see very well from the photo.

Back to School
My mother was a teacher. It's not an easy job, but it's so very important. This card is for the Curtain Call challenge: Back to School. I used the PTI stamp set which is filled with lovely sentiments about teachers. The sketch I took from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I changed it a bit by flipping it on its side and adding the banners.

TSOT #97
This is my first time participating in the Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge blog, and so far I am liking it! The sketch is clean and simple, and I got to use my new cuttlebug embossing folder from the James set. The stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

A Box of Thanks
Someone was looking for male-type thank you cards, and I realized I didn't have any - all my cards were too girly. So, when I saw the color combo for this week's Dynamic Duos, I paired it with the Clean & Simple layout, and created a couple of sets.

Quilled Thanks
I've been wanting to try my hand at quilling for some time now, but like all things, it's just a matter of finding the time. Or maybe in this case, the right inspiration. I made this card for the Clean and Simple challenge and the Paper Players color challenge. The quilling is very simple - circles! The first time I made them I cut the strips too thick, so I made them half the size, started the roll on a toothpick, and finished it with some glue. The stamp comes from the dollar bin at Michaels.

Remembering You
This one is a late addition to my card club lineup for this Friday - we are in need of thank you cards, and I couldn't resist the colors of this week's color throwdown challenge. The stamps are from Clear Dollar.

Watercolor Pencils
While browsing the splitcoast stampers gallery, I came across this card, which I immediately sat down to case. The original card maker used watercolor crayons, which I do not have. I do have watercolor pencils, so I experimented with those instead. I used rainbow colors scribbled roughly onto the card base, then took a wet napkin and rubbed until the colors blended. I also used dimensional glaze and microbeads. Finally, I scored some lines in the upper left corner of the card for visual balance. I like how it turned out, and it was fun to do. I've had my watercolor pencils for over 10 years, and this is the first time I've tried using them in this way.
