Gray Skies and Spring Butterflies

This week over at Seize the Birthday, it's anything goes. I was lucky enough to have my sister over yesterday and took advantage of borrowing her supplies to make this card. The envelope was made with a punch, as were the butterflies, which I punched in a variety of pretty spring colors. I added a dot of silver onto each little butterfly. The sentiment comes from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. I am also linking up to CAS-Usual Fridays Shades of Gray.

CAS(E) This Sketch #66

When I first saw this sketch, I didn't think I'd be able to do anything with it, but then I saw what Kim on the design team made, and I was inspired. Plus a new order of stamps always help to inspire me! The set I used is called Pedal Pushers from PTI. Cardstock is Rustic White, also from PTI. The cloud piece was cut with a die from Paper Smooches.

RetroSketches #100 Take 2

Here's another card for the  RetroSketches 100th sketch challenge. The balloons were made with a punch from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from PTI. I made a few other cards for this sketch, 2 of which I posted earlier. I like this one the best.

Celebrate the (CAS)E

Here's another birthday card for the (CAS)E This Sketch Challenge #62. I used a PTI set and some paper from my scrap bin. Thanks, Barb!

RetroSketch 100

I spent the day on Sunday crafting with my sister and using her new stamp sets. I made two cards for the RetroSketches 100th sketch using a PTI birthday set.

RetroSketch #99

I got a lot of card making in this weekend, which has been great. This card is for the RetroSketch Challenge #99. I used a fun birthday set from Inkadinkadoo.

Happy Birthday Simon, Again

This is my second entry for the Simon Says Stamps birthday challenge. I made another pink card just because I like pink, but this one is decidedly more feminine with the flowers. The stamps are from PTI this time. The layout was also suppose to be for a challenge, but now I can't find it! Oh, well. I still like the card.

Simon Says Happy Birthday

I am playing along with this week's Simon Says challenge which is to create a birthday card. How perfect, since I love making birthday cards, and I just so happen to have a great set from their store, the Absolutely die and sentiment stamps. I also used Super Stripes from PTI and some die-cut letters. Happy Birthday, Simon!

Paper Playtime #6

Paper Playtime challenge this week is to use a bee in your project. I used a bee digi I had from The Cutting Cafe, as well as the PTI happy hexagons and a swiss dots embossing folder. This turned out to be a great little multi-purpose card which I will be making more of for my stash.

Bring it On!

When I saw the CASology challenge this week (game), I knew I had the perfect set - Boys Basics: Game On by Papertrey Ink, which my sweet sister bought for me at Christmas. I paired this up with the sketch challenge over at Retro Sketches.

Card Cafe #12

I found another great challenge blog recently, called Pink Paper Bakery. They had a great sketch for their Card Cafe so I decided to use up some scraps and make something sweet. Images are from Clear Dollar. I did have a little embellishment on my banners but it just didn't look right, so I removed it. Otherwise I kept with the sketch.

TSGBC03 - They're Good For You

This card is for There She Goes birthday challenge - day 3! It was based on an inspiration photo. I tried to capture the whimsy as well as the colors. The birthday sayings from Inkadinkadoo seemed a good fit for this one.

Heres my card...

TSGBC04 - A Banner Birthday

This card is for There She Goes birthday blog hop celebration. Today is day 4. I am planning on participating for all of the days, but I haven't done day 1 or day 3 yet, so my posts will be slightly...ahem...out of order. The banner stamp is from PaperTreyInk. I added clear glitter stickles to the banner to give it a bit of dimension and of course sparkle.

TSGBC02 - Monstrously Delicious

I've had this creepy crawlies stamp set from The Angel Company for many many years - it was one of the first stamps I bought when I started this hobby 10 years ago. I love this set, but don't use it often. And I've never made a birthday card with it, until now. The challenge is boys birthday from There She Goes clear stamps. The sketch comes from Freshly Made Sketches, but I finished it too late to enter into the challenge.

Dynamic Duos 17

My card for the challenge over at Dynamic Duos is a cake! Could be a wedding cake, could be a birthday cake. Either way, it's cute (at least I think so).

Almost 40

This is a birthday card using the sketch from the Clean and Simple blog, and the color challenge from the Paper Players blog. I guess I have birthdays on the brain - my 40th is coming up very very very soon (sigh). Getting older was always something that happened to other people, but now I cannot ignore the signs that it is happening to me as well. But then again, they say that life begins at 40, and every day that God gives us is a reason to celebrate!

I am so into the quilling technique right now, and this card was bouncing around in my head for a couple of days, and early this morning it finally came together. I used grosgrain white ribbon for the balloon strings, and added liquid pink pearls on the sentiment strip.

Carpe Cupcake

This is a fun card for the CAS-ual Friday challenge: put a bling on it. The flames of the candles are decorated with yellow stickles, which qualifies for the bling. The sentiment is computer-generated, and I used my cricut to cut out the cupcake shapes.

Strike!

My son has requested a bowling birthday party this year at our local bowling alley. When you sign up for the party, they give you invitations to mail out, among other things. But, I really wanted to make my own invitations, and when I came across this card on Splitcoaststampers, I had to case it. It's also my first spinner card, and I made 23 of them! I did not use pennies because it added too much weight to the card. Instead I used cardstock circles which were smaller than the bowling ball, and that seemed to work just fine.

Just Think

This card is for the Paper Players challenge: tickle your funny bone. I love this set from Inkadinkadoo - it's full of cute images and funny sentiments. I did a masking technique and colored the girl with my copics. Thanks to my daughter for helping me with the inspiration for this one.

Eat Cake

This card was inspired by a card done by Kim over at Joyful Creations. She's a great designer and I hope one day to be as good as her. I am also entering this one into two challenges; the CAS-ual Friday CFC45 and the CAS163 over at Splitcoast Stampers. I used the reverse masking technique and the Got Cake set from cleardollarstamps.
