Sending Some Sunshine

The challenge over at the Verve blog is to send some sunshine, so what better way to do that than with the sun! The stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels, and the paper came from my scrap stash. The sun is embossed with the cuttlebug swiss dots folder, and the sentiment is popped up on dimensionals. I adhered the rays of the sun only at the spot behind the sentiment, leaving the rest loose and floppy. When the card is propped open, the rays bend out slightly, which gives the card a nice dimensional look without adding bulk. Now I have to buy stamps so I can send this out to a dear person I know who can use a little cheering up.

The second card I made slightly different, and I think I like the way it turned out a bit better. The sun and sentiment are the same color, which makes it look more like a sun (at least in my opinion).

Thanks for looking!
