Christian Action Reaching Everyone

God provided an opportunity to begin a handmade card ministry at my church. We call it the CARE Card Club and it has been active since April of 2011 and has grown tremendously in the past year. We meet once a month to make cards from kits which I prep ahead of time. The cards go to our church members who are homebound and also to those members who are struggling with various needs. We also make Christmas cards for a local nursing home, and cards for our outreach events such as Vacation Bible School.

People of all ages and skills come each month to help make the cards. Everything is prepped and ready to go, which makes it very easy for anyone to do. I make a sample card and have everything in a plastic pencil case: stamps, inks, paper, tools, etc.. Sometimes we work in a production line, sometimes we work on our own or in pairs, but there's always lots of laughing, talking, and crafting.

Kim S. over at Joyful Creations with Kim was my inspiration, and I run the meetings much the way she outlined on her own blog. She is a very talented crafter and I case her creations often!
