FTL 160

This has been a good week for me in regard to challenges - or rather, I've seen quite a few that I've been motivated to participate in. Maybe sub-consciously I'm avoiding something, like, umm, laundry. Anyway, I needed some birthday cards, and I so loved the example for this weeks' Clean and Simple challenge, I decided to CASE it! I hope that doesn't disqualify me from the challenge, but if so, then it was worth it, because everything just clicked into place for me: the layout, the colors, the theme. I did of course change it slightly, but not by very much. I tried a new technique on this card: I embossed the background strip with a cuttlebug circles folder, then randomly punched small holes which allows the blue color to show through.

Sometimes I take too long to enter a challenge, and by the time I've gotten around to making a card, the deadline is over. This is such a card, but I'm sharing it with you because I really like the way it turned out, it's a birthday card, and it has a CASED flower, which now I'm sorry to say I don't remember where I found this technique, but it was real easy and involved a circle punch, some folding, and of course, stickles.

Thanks for looking!
-Brenda
